Basic Techniques - The possibilities are endless for making beautiful beaded necklaces and earrings once you learn these simple yet essential techniques! We'll answer your questions such as “Which clasp do I use?” “How do I finish this?” and “What’s the best string for this project?” Fee: $70, plus materials. All skill levels welcome! One 3-hour session.
Wire Work/Earrings - The best, most practical way to learn wirework is to make some earrings! In this class you'll make some earrings while learning and applying the basic techniques of twisting, shaping, and wrapping wire. Create components such as headpins, eyepins, earwires, and clasps for use in the design and assembly of rosary-style necklaces, eyepin necklaces, bracelets, and earrings! Also, wirework is handy for making your own chain and chainmail, or assembling purchased chain lengths into an original work of art. Sterling silver, brass, gold-filled and copper metals are available in store for your projects. Fee: $70, plus materials. All skill levels welcome! One 3-hour session.
Wire Mesh necklace - It’s a lot less complicated than it looks, and the design packs a lot of punch! For this project, you will need a knitting spool, 24-gauge wire, approx 200 seed beads and possibly accent beads or marbles small enough to pass easily through the spool. Fee: $90, plus materials. All skill levels welcome! Two 2-1/2 hour sessions.
REVIVE! Is a class in re-designing a piece of family, old, broken, or not often-worn jewelry, combining favorite elements with other beads. Refresh your jewelry box inhabitants, and make the imperfect PERFECT!
Leather Wrap Bracelet Learn this trendy technique!
Advanced Techniques - You already know the basics? Step right into the advanced class! Learn creative and challenging designs and finishes including multiple strands, endless knotting, French bouillion, and more! Broken treasure welcome for evaluation and consultation on how to restring them yourself! Fee: $70 plus materials. Basic beading skills a prerequisite! One 2-1/2 hour session.
Knotting with Silk - Learn the basic skill of knotting with silk! Once you’ve mastered the technique, you’ll be able to make and repair your own knotted necklaces. Create new and unique necklaces, including the currently popular Floating Pearl necklace with the proper technique for fragile beads such as pearls. Fee: $70, plus materials. All skill levels welcome!
Crochetted Bracelets - This class uses the most simple of all crochet stitches and requires no previous experience! Use tiny glass seed beads to spiral, zigzag, or diamond your work into stunning rope- style bracelet! Best of all, this beading project is portable (you string the beads first, so there's little chance of spillage!) and never again will you mind waiting anywhere! Fee: $90, plus materials. Two 2-1/2 hour sessions. All skill levels welcome!
Try something different and come away from class with a finished project and new ideas!
Square stitch bracelet: Come and learn this wonderfully old technique. Only your imagination will limit the bracelets that you can create! Very versatile - you can use loom pattens and even knitting motifs. You can use almost any type of bead as long as they are uniform in shape!
Peyote Stitch (Even Count): This is a Native American stitch that lets you create unique bracelets. There are many patterns out there for this stitch but by using beautiful crystals or seed beads you can create bracelets with lots of bling!
Dichroic Glass Fusing: You will create 4 pendants using dichroic glass. We supply all the tools and materials. Pendants will be picked up one week later - they will be fired off the premises in a kiln. Make one pendant for you and give the others as gifts! You will have beautiful colors and textures of glass to choose from.
Tubular Twisted Herringbone Stitch: This is a fun stitch that will allow you to create beautiful bracelets or necklaces. In this class you will create a bracelet. This is an old African stitch - If you have always admired round, tubular bracelets like the bead crochet ones - then this class is definitely for you!
Lariat Necklace: This is a longer necklace tied, clasped, or clipped in front, although there are actually many ways of wearing it! Find larger beads to dangle on the ends … the rest of the beads can be all the same kind or a treasure trove of different, special goodies!
Beach glass wire wrap: Learn how to cage treasures so they really stay in there!
Spiral rope class: The spiral rope is an easy concept that makes a rich necklace with a wonderful drape that can be made up in myriad variations! Uses Nymo and very small needle. Try it!
Memory wire bracelet: There are many beautiful and creative ways to make up this simple concept, which doesn’t use a clasp!
Multi-Strand Illusion Necklace: Make a cloud of beads float! Learn to set out a pattern and secure beads in place for something light and beautiful.
Stretch elastic bracelet: A simple project, the elastic means no clasp necessary, so just ... think ... BEADS!
